Welcome to another exciting edition of our Designer Picks series!
In this edition, we are thrilled to partner with Veronica Tucker, the designer behind Veronica Tucker The Label, a Melbourne-based slow fashion brand. Veronica's passion for sustainable fashion, coupled with her expertise in design and pattern-making, has created a wonderful brand so let's delve into Veronica's picks!
Veronica's journey in the fashion industry began after graduating from an Advanced Diploma in Fashion Design and Technology in 2011. She quickly gained valuable experience by interning with WGSN, a renowned trend forecasting agency. Her passion and talent led her to rise through the ranks of womenswear design, where she excelled in both designer and textile designer roles.
However, it was Veronica's personal endeavors that truly fueled her creative spirit. Every evening after work and during weekends, she would immerse herself in the art of sewing, experimenting with fabrics, patterns, and trims. As her knowledge of sustainability and ethical manufacturing grew, she became disenchanted with her role at a fast fashion label. In March 2020, she made the bold decision to quit her job and fully commit to her passion for slow and sustainable fashion. She embarked on a mission to design and create clothing that not only reflected her unique aesthetic but also prioritised the well-being of the planet and the people involved in the production process.
Today, Veronica Tucker The Label stands as a testament to Veronica's unwavering dedication to quality craftsmanship, timeless aesthetics, and a profound respect for the environment. Her collections are thoughtfully curated, reflecting her unique blend of elegance, functionality, and sustainability. By showcasing her innovative pattern and fabric combinations in this edition of our Designer Picks series, we hope to inspire you to explore new possibilities and embrace the beauty of slow fashion.

THE HAZEL X ANTIQUE WASH LINEN FABRIC
The Hazel is the epitome of a flowy, versatile garment that effortlessly transitions from dress-up to dress-down occasions. With its tie neck yoke, balloon sleeves, and three voluminous tiers (complete with pockets!). Whether you choose to create a dress or a blouse version, the Hazel pattern accommodates any fabric, but we recommend a medium-weight, opaque fabric to eliminate the need for lining.
Pair this with the Antique Wash Linen Fabric in Persimmon (or any of the colours!) - with its soft and relaxed feel, this soft linen fabric drapes beautifully and only gets better with wear. The Persimmon shade adds warmth with its soft dark orange hue, and the fabric's superior quality European Flax fibre ensures durability. This mid-weight linen fabric is perfect for a range of garments, including dresses, shirts, blouses, and pants. The bold colours of our Antique Wash Linen Fabric will really bring the Hazel pattern to life.

THE HERA SET X VISCOSE LINEN NOIL FABRIC IN ROSE BLUSH
The Hera Set pattern and the amazing Viscose Linen Noil Fabric in Rose Blush couldn't pair better. The Hera pattern is a versatile gem, featuring fully lined puff sleeves, a tie neck blouse, a curved yoke, and a gathered skirt with pockets. What's even better? The Hera top is reversible, allowing you to switch up the keyhole placement. This pattern comes as a two-piece set, but it can also be transformed into an all-in-one dress or a semi-attached dress.
Now, let's discuss the fabric Veronica selectec. This amazing blend of viscose and linen creates a noil fabric with a unique slubby finish and a wonderful drape. This mid-weight fabric with a fluid drape is perfect for creating an array of garments, including tops, shirts, dresses, and pants. Get ready to bring your Hera Set to life with this stunning fabric.
