Itch to Stitch - Atenas Jacket PDF Sewing Pattern

$106.00 per metre

The Atenas Jacket is a classic denim jacket. The denim jacket we know and love was released by Levi Strauss in 1953, and since then it has remained relatively unchanged. You can’t get more timeless than that. It means once you make the Atenas, you’ll wear it for years, and it won’t go out of style.

The Atenas has all the classic details. While you are welcome to implement each and every one of them – chest pockets with flaps, single-welt pockets, flat-felled seams and topstitching – you are also welcome to simplify and omit any of them. Regardless of your preference, the pattern instructions will walk you through every step of the way!

Additional features include front double princess seams, front and back yokes, optional buttoned side tabs on the bottom band, slightly dropped shoulders, and two-piece sleeves with a functional sleeve vent and buttoned cuff. The pattern also has options for A, B, C, D and DD cups for the perfect fit.

  • Available sizes in UK 2-24. Bust from 77cm (31") to 125cm (49"), Waist from 65cm (25") to 103cm (40"), and Hip from 85cm (33") to 122cm (48").

Skill Level: Intermediate, Advanced

Recommended Fabric: Primary fabric: Use stable, medium-weight woven fabric with a crisp drape, such as denim, twill or broadcloth. Keep in mind that if you choose to use flat-felled seams, the fabric can get quite thick, so choose your fabric accordingly if your sewing machine cannot handle thick layers.

Lining: Use stable, non-stretch woven fabric such as quilting cotton. The lining is for the pockets.

Pattern Format: This is a PDF pattern. Included in your download is an A4 file for at home printing, an A0 File for Copy Shop Printing, Projector files and detailed instruction files.

    • Medium-weight fusible woven or weft insertion interfacing
    • fourteen (ten if omitting side tabs) 0.67″ (17 mm) jean buttons and tool to install them (usually just a hammer)
    • topstitching thread.
